BELOW IS A LETTER SENT OUT BY MARIE ABOUT THE NEW PRISON MINISTRY.  

Dear Friends & Family of El Shaddai Ministries, 
 
Jeremiah 22:16 - He defended the cause of the  poor and needy, and so all went well. "Is that not what it means to know Me?"  declares the LORD.

We all praise the Lord for giving us the opportunity to be an ambassador for Him at the jail today.  For a long time, the Lord had been  speaking to me about going to minister there. I would always give many excuses  why I could not go. After I had several Jonah experiences, I decided to go visit  the prisoners for the first time last week. The process to get in was not easy,  but the Lord gave me favor and I finally was able to visit. 

My first visit was awesome! I came in the name of Jesus and all the prisoners welcomed me. Because of the conditions, I felt really bad that I could not present the gospel to the prisoners, but I did pray for all of them. They were so respectful to the Lord and they wanted to put their shirts on so I could pray with them. I choose not to elaborate about the conditions of the  jail to you, but would ask you to pray for the Lord to do a work there.  Before I  left, the prisoners asked for Bibles and they asked for me to give them verses  to read in the Bible.

Praise the Lord, today (Saturday, June 11) I was able to take Bibles to the jail. Also, with the help of Soeur Maxo, all the ladies, the youth, and even the children, we cooked food for about 96 prisoners. Everyone received a plate of rice and beans, two pieces of  chicken, one drink (Tampico), and two bottles of water.  They were very happy that we came! Nine of the prisoners wanted to receive Christ. We told them that we will wait to pray with them after they finished eating. We handed them the plate of food, but they put it down. They prayed to receive Christ even before they ate. They had big smiles on their faces! We are so excited to see the Lord work so wonderfully! It was clear that they give more importance to the Word than anything else, although they are in great need.  Even the policemen were amazed at God's love. One of them kept saying, "What love!"  We praise God for giving us this opportunity.

We do not have pictures of ministering at the jail. I want to be very careful to do all I can to keep the door open and do all the Lord has for me to do there. I would like to keep going and ministering to them and to others in the same situation. Thank you for your prayers and  financial  support. You are part of this work as well. We would so appreciate your  continued prayers as we take the next step in ministering to the prisoners as the Lord leads. God bless you!!!
